Congratulations on taking the next step and deciding to register for an online course! Whether you want to graduate, upgrade, or learn for your own interest and health, our staff is eager to help. Notice that our online courses are self-paced within the school year, which runs from September to June. The centre is closed in July and August. Please call 204-312-1614 if you have any questions about Midland Adult Education Centre. To register, please call after the Labour Day weekend in September, and we will be happy to help you.
Steps to Register
- Locate your Transcript:
You will need to upload a copy of your latest high school transcript when you register. Your transcript is necessary for two reasons:
1) Your Manitoba Education and Training (MET) number is needed to add you to an online course. 2) Your previous credits may be used towards your Mature Student Diploma.
If you are a returning student, we may already have your transcript on file. If you do not have a copy of your transcript, the last high school you attended may be able to provide one, or you can request a statement of high school marks from Student Records. If your previous high school credits were earned out of province, we will apply for a MET number for you. - Call the Centre:
The next step is to call the centre and talk to one of the teachers. Together you will make a learning plan and determine which course or courses you will need to reach your goals. The teacher will ask you lots of questions to ensure we can meet your needs. You need to call and complete a learning plan even if you are a returning student who will continue from a previous school year. Phone: 1-866-800-6594, 204-745-2095 or 204-312-1614(cell). - Complete the Registration Form:
After you talk to MAEC staff, complete our registration form online. Registration must be completed every school year until you have reached your goals. Remember to include your MET number in the appropriate field on your registration form. Forms sent without a MET number may take several days longer to process. - Send the Annual Registration Fee:
Regardless of how many courses you complete within the school year, the only cost to you is the annual (non-refundable) registration fee of $35.00. There is no per course tuition fee. This fee can be sent by cheque, money order or e-transfer.
Cheques or money orders should be made payable to Prairie Rose School Division, and sent by regular mail to:
