Your Steps to Register
-
Develop Your Learning Plan:
Your Learning Plan is the outline of what courses you need to complete, and the order in which you would be expect to complete them. The initial step in the registration process is to develop a Learning plan with the Director. The procedure to develop your Learning Plan will depend upon your circumstance:- If you have earned high school credits in Manitoba, and are intending to complete your Mature Student High School Diploma, you will need to get us your transcript. If you do not have a copy of your High School transcript, the last High School you attended will provide one upon your request. You can also request your statement of High School marks at Student Records. Send your transcript to our general email box maec@g.prsdmb.ca including your name and phone number. As soon as we pick up your information, the Director will reach out to you to review your information, and develop your Learning Plan. As part of this process the Director will determine what classes can be carried forward from completed courses to your Mature Student High School Diploma. As your Learning Plan is complete, the Director will then guide you through the registration procedures.
- If you have earned high school credits within Canada, but outside of Manitoba, we will need a copy of your transcript, sent to us at maec@g.prsdmb.ca Be sure to include your name and phone number as part of this email. We will also need to apply, on your behalf, for a Manitoba Education and Training (MET) number. A MET number is a nine-digit identification number that will link all of your High School course work to the Manitoba Education and Training student records. In order to register with us, all students need a MET number. In addition to your transcript, you will need to send us a photograph of your Manitoba Driver’s License, so we can apply for your MET number. Typically, it takes a number of days for Manitoba Education and Training to process our request for your MET number, but as soon as they issue it to us, we will reach out to you to complete the registration process. Again, as part of the development of your Learning Plan, the Director will determine which already completed courses can be applied towards your Mature Student High School Diploma, then guide you through the registration procedure.
- If you are coming to us from abroad, we only need a photo of your Manitoba Driver’s License, sent as an attachment to maec@g.prsdmb.ca so we can apply for your MET#. Include your name and phone number as part of this email. After we receive you MET number, we can contact you so the Director can work with you on developing your Learning Plan, and then guide you through the registration procedure.
- If you have graduated already, and are looking to upgrade specific courses, phone the Center directly. The Director can work with you on developing your Learning Plan, and guide you through the registration procedure.
